I came across this new beta tool from Google last week. I haven't tested it extensively but on first appraisal it seems to do what it says on the box.
The idea is you type in your search term, tell Google what language its in and what language you want to search in. It then translates the search term and dishes up the results, translated on the left hand side and original on the right.

I use as my default browser K-Ninja, a very minimalistic browser based on the Gecko engine, the same as Firefox. There's a K-Ninja wiki here.
***edit***
K-Ninja Development is now officially wrapped up as of the 12th March 2008

As Firefox has developed it has become more and more bloated (probably my fault with all the extensions I use) and therefore slower and slower.
K-Ninja on the other hand is the quickest browser around. On my badly maintained machine it opens and displays my Google homepage in under 6 seconds (Firefox 15 seconds and twice the memory footprint). But the biggest plus is the ability to configure absolutely everything with no need for extensions etc as nearly everything can be done by editing macros.

I was having a look around for an easy way to find the numeric character reference codes "number;" html notation and found a number of really good resources.
I know you can simply type the character if you have a European keyboard as so - ü ä è - etc but this will not validate and can cause big problems on computers using a different character set. This can lead to the user seeing Li?ge or an even stranger rendering.

I liked the look of the borders to put around the adsense boxes that I found on Big Sensation, its a free download.
Just download the zip file, unpack and cut-n-paste the html to your template. You need to surround your adsense script with the table code. Its fairly obvious when you see the html. Upload the 5 graphics needed (don't miss the spacer.gif) and double check the paths to the graphics, I used fully qualified url's to make it unbreakable.

Before starting this blog I had assumed that all and any information I needed for multilingual site building and optimising would be easily Googled. Alas no, there is really a dearth of info in English and a lot of it is contradictory even within the forum posts.
In this post I'll list what forums I have found useful but again I stress that there just isn't a lot of information out there.
